The PDP flag bearer for 2019 maybe disqualified from contesting in the general election 2019 if the petition against him turn out to be true that he did not pay his personal tax on time is verified to be true.
The suit against the people’s Democratic party candidate by the duos of Nelson Ekujumi and Solomon Sobade, who allegedly said that the PDP candidate in the person of Alhaj Atiku Abubabar who on Monday 19th November 2018 flag off presidential campaign for 2019 general election stating he would get Nigeria working again if elected to be president, that he had not paid his personal income tax for many years passed. The group claimed that such a person who claimed to get Nigeria working again must have leave by example, that Atiku where able to his 2015 to 2017 personal income tax by April this year to meet up the INEC requirements for the incoming election.
Read the petition below;
“We are Nigerians committed to enthrone honesty and integrity in public offices and sustenance of true democracy.
It is in this regards that we write to you under section 1(1) and (2) and section (4)a of freedom of information act to make available to us the 2015 and 2016 personal income tax receipt of Alhaji Atiku Abubabar who is the candidate of peoples Democratic party PDP for 2019 presidential election.
Information at our disposal is that Alhaji Atiku Abubabar DID NOT PAY HIS personal income tax for several years and only ran to FIRS in April this year to pay the back-log of only his 2015-2017 to meet up with INEC requirements.
Hence in filing his INEC forms, he only produced his receipt for 2017 tax which was paid in April 2018. Kindly find attached his INEC form with only 2017 tax receipt. HE DELIBERATELY OMITTED TO ATTACHE HIS 2015 AND 2016 TAX RECEIPTS.
As Someone who continuously says he is interested to Nigeria and its economy working again, it important Nigerians know if he has being paying his personal income tax as at WHEN DUE.
Consequently we request his 2015 and 2016 personal income tax receipt to ascertain whether he paid as at when due”
Thus this petition against PDP presidential candidate whom many Nigerians especially the opposition citizens are clamouring and hoping to elect into office by 2019 may likely be disqualified from contesting in the general election in 2019.
