The Chairman Independent National Electoral ,Commission, INEC, Mahood Yakubu, has told Nigerians what they ought to do in 2019 if the citizen is not satisfied by the documents of some candidates vying for post of presidency, House of Assembly and representative or who thinks some documents has been falsified to channel the case either the Federal high court or State high court.
Mahood Yakubu, made this known in Abuja while addressing the Commissioning of the headquarter on Friday.
“Any person with reasonable ground to believed tha
t any information inform CFOO1 submitted by a candidates contains incorrect or false claims at liberty to file an action against such candidate at the Federal high court or the high of a state or FCT”
” While the current exercise is limited to candidates for presidential and National house of assembly election, the personal particulars of those contesting in governorship and state assemblies election will be published on November 9,2018one week after the close of submission of nomination by political parties”
“this is an opportunity for citizen to ascertain the personal details of the candidate to enable the take infirmed decision on election day or even initiate a legal action against candidate who they believed have made false claims on their form” he added.
Thus, many Nigerians anticipate the official publication on November 9, 2018, of credentials of the candidates aspiring for various seats especially that of the presidential candidates, as that created a lot of drama, last general election 2015. Nigerians will still act up, not minding if the rule actually still exist in the nation.
